Basis: Brazilian consulates (e.g. San José, Montreal) ask for one 5 x 7 cm color photo, white background, head and shoulders, chin to forehead 31–36 mm, no glasses. Some posts (e.g. Chicago) accept 2 x 2 in; check your consulate page. Official source. The agency that receives the photo makes the final decision.

Which size does your consulate want?

It depends on the post, so open your consulate page on gov.br/mre before printing:

    Baby photo at home

Lay the baby on a plain white sheet and shoot from above, face straight to the camera, eyes open. No hands, pacifier or toys in the picture. Consulates such as San José accept home photos of babies if the light is good and the background is white.

    Print it

Download the 4x6 print sheet and order it as a regular 4x6 in (10x15 cm) photo print at Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Costco or any photo kiosk. A 4x6 print usually costs well under a dollar, versus about $15–17 for passport photos taken at a pharmacy counter. Ask for actual size, no cropping, no "fit", then cut along the gray lines.

    Frequently asked questions

What size is a Brazilian passport photo?
