FotoApta

About FotoApta

FotoApta turns a phone photo into a passport, visa or ID photo at the official size, for free and without a watermark. We are an independent project with no link to any government agency.

How it works

Open computer-vision models (MediaPipe, Apache 2.0 license) run in your browser: one finds the face landmarks and expression, another separates person, hair and background. We measure the head, straighten the photo, crop it to the document rule and replace the background. The photo is never uploaded.

Our rules for money

No account, no card, no subscription, no trial that turns into a charge. The basic photo stays free. If we launch paid extras (such as an AI professional headshot), the price is shown up front and paid once.

Sources for each rule

Rules checked on 2026-10-06. Found something outdated? Write to contato@fotoapta.com.

Limits

The tool does not detect glasses and cannot guarantee acceptance: the agency that receives the photo decides. Cropping and resizing are accepted everywhere; replacing the background depends on the document (some agencies, such as the UK and Canada, reject altered photos — use Original background then). We never apply beauty filters.

Privacy

Photos: processed entirely in your browser. We do not receive, store or see them. Guided camera: the video is analyzed on your device and never recorded or sent.

Statistics: we count visits and clicks anonymously (event type, page, country, source category), with no tracking cookies and no personal identifier.

Launch list (optional): if you ask to be notified, we keep only the email, your answer about the price and the consent date, to send a single launch email. We never sell or share it. To delete it, write to contato@fotoapta.com.

Advertising

To keep the tool free we show Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to show and measure ads, including based on your visits to this and other sites. See how Google uses information from partner sites and turn off personalized ads in Ad settings. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first. Ads never receive your photos, which stay on your device.
